Easy habit fixes to a healthier life

Sometimes we need a buddy to remind us about what’s important. Whose your buddy? That’s right, ME! Leading a healthy lifestyle is SO important but it shouldn’t be stressful! It’s all about consistency over time, making better choices and enjoying the journey! Bring more joy to your life and follow some simple steps:

  1. Say Yes to Smoothies

    Maybe you don’t have the energy to cook each night. Don’t worry! You can still get some incredible nutrition from smoothies. Try some of these recipes, (with almond milk or water and protein powder), for a drink that soothes even the toughest cravings:

    • Avocado, lemon juice, and banana
    • Orange, pineapple, banana, and kale
    • Tomato, carrot, bell pepper, and celery with a dash of cayenne pepper
    • Avocado, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas

  2. Ditch the Soda

    Soda is the worst! Regular or diet! Trust me, I’m working on cutting out diet soda completely. No health benefits at all! BOO! Try replacing your daily soda fix with sparkling water instead.

    We love LaCroix, and recently have fallen for Bubly. You’ll still get some carbonation and a tasty drink, but you won’t waste empty calories on a sugary drink that has been implicated in everything from obesity to cancer. Can’t give up soda entirely? Try cutting back to once a day, week, or month instead.


  3. Drink More Water

    Give your health a boost by drinking more water. Carry a water bottle with you, and replenish it everywhere you go. Simply drinking more water can help flush toxins from your body, boost your weight-loss, and give rise to healthier skin, hair, and nails.

  4. Get Moving

    Hopefully your meeting with us (your trainers) so we will try our best to make your workouts challenging and fun! But when your not at the gym focus on moving more. Take a break every hour when you’re working, or commit to walking your dogs or playing tag with your kids once a day. When you have the option to do so, park as far away from your destination, and walk as frequently as possible. These small boosts in activity can help you lose weight over time while preventing muscle aches and pains!

  5. Say “Yes” More Often

    We live in a world full of overwhelming stimulation and near-constant sources of exhaustion. It’s no wonder, then, that you probably say no when your friends invite you out, your mom encourages you to join her at yoga, or your brother asks if you want to go for a run. Saying “yes” to these social invitations, however, gets you out, gets you moving, and can help boost your overall happiness. Happy people are healthier, and of course, the real goal of any health plan is a better life filled with more joy! I say YES to that!
